Sofia, February 16th 2022

The Institute for Market Economics presented the English edition of Regional Profiles: Indicators of Development 2021.

During the presentation, the main topics of discussion were the effects of the COVID pandemic on education, demography, health and the economy, changes in the regional map, and the regional potential for the economic and social development.

The study “Regional Profiles: Indicators for Development 2020” was presented online. The main topics of discussion were:

  • Effects of the pandemic on the long-term perspective of the various regions
  • Which regions were hit the hardest and what happened with demographics and education during the pandemic?
  • Expectations from the 2021-2027 period for the regions in Bulgaria
  • Politics, decentralization and regional development in the post-pandemic world
